Bendigo Airport Redevelopment

This project involved a combined planning scheme amendment and planning permit application for the construction of a new $15 million runway at the Bendigo Airport.  Centrum Town Planning prepared amendment documentation, new design and development overlays, a permit application report and draft planning permit. 

Centrum Town Planning was engaged by City of Greater Bendigo to prepare the project required extensive negotiation with a broad range of stakeholders, including local residents.  Centrum Town Planning advised Council on a range of new planning provisions that related to height limits for surrounding development, noise controls and land use provisions.  Centrum Town Planning also developed urban design guidelines for a new business park at the Airport.  The new runway has been constructed and is now a major piece of economic, tourism and emergency services infrastructure for central Victoria.

Walk Bendigo

Centrum Town Planning assisted the City of Greater Bendigo with planning permit applications for the first stage of the ‘Walk Bendigo’ project.  This landmark project involved the concept of integration achieved through traffic management and road design to influence the environment around roads to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety in the Bendigo CBD.  The project involved close liaison with architects, engineers and other stakeholders, and careful consideration of heritage controls.
